    • Why was Pizzaro leading the expedition into South America?
    • What advantages did the Spanish have over the Inca?
    • What were the main factors that led to the Spanish defeat of the Inca?
  4. Choose one of the following writing prompts and post a comment to the post. Write your first name and last initial on the post so I know who you are.
    • What are two similarities between the two conquests and what is one difference?
    • Describe how Cortes and Pizzaro had similar reasons for leading their expeditions.
    • Evaluate how Cortes and Pizzaro achieved success on their expeditions (what were factors that led to their success, what were strategic moves they made)
Good Luck! This will count as 5 extra credit points, the points you receive will be based on the quality of your answer. Comments are due by the end of the day Friday 09/28

Cortés and Pizarro both conquered whole empires while looking for riches. Cortéses lust for gold helped him conquer the aztecs, while Pizarros helped him conquer the Incas. Cortés conquered the Aztecs because of his horses and dogs. Pizarro conquered the Incas because of his deadly weapons. Cortés allied with the tlaxcalans for backup. Pizarro, however, captured and executioned the Inca leader, Atahuallpa. Both made a major impact on the empires they conquered.

Cortes and Pizzaro achieved success because they completed several strategic moves in defeating the Inca and the Aztecs. They both came from Spain hungry for money and gold. They brought European dieases and surripeor weapons, such as guns and cannons. Cortes had ,at first, befriended the Aztecs but later slaughtered them. He brought horses and dieases. Pizzaro attacked the Incas in an during a vital time. The Incas wher4e expinerincing Civil War and small pox. The two men where able to defat the kingdoms becuase they created false trust, threated and enslaved. These two men are examples of the Spanish greed and crulety.

I think that a similarity between pizzaro and cortes is that they both explored a foreign land. Another similarity is that they both had an extreme advantage over the people they conquered. The only difference i can think of is that pizzaro explored the incas and cortes explored the maya and aztec

Cortes and Pizzaro's conquests of the Aztec and the Inca, respectivly, were very simaler. For example Cortes and Pizzaro were both searching for gold and were on a mission for god and glory. They both also won because of there horses, guns, and there immunity to smallpox.

Cortes and pizzaro's conguests wre both alike and different. One way was they both where in it for the gold and silver. Another one is that they both were kinda cruel to the slaves and workers. Which in my opinion is not cool. They wre also kinda different lik Cortes was going to Spain and Pizzaro was going to South America. As you can see both Cortes and pizzaro were alike and different in many ways.

Cortes and Pizarro both led voyages because they were seeking riches in the western land. They also didn't care about what they did to the people or the land. They were both greedy and irresponsible to their crew.

Cortes and Pizzaro had many similarities and some differences and i am gonna tell u some. One of the similarities is that they both took over two empires just to get there riches. They also both knew that they had big advantages over both of the empires like having weapons and armour and all that jazz. The two differences were that they took over two different empires in two different countries. The information was pretty godly and all that jazz if you know what i mean jelly bean.

There are many similarities between Cortes and Pizzaro. Both men were from Spain. Both of them lead their missions to find gold and money. Both were recepted nicely by the Indians even though they ended up being mean to them.
Some of the differences were huge. For example, Cortes killed most of the Indians by force while Pizzaro killed them with disease. Another difference is that Cortes was not supposed to be on a mission and Pizzaro was allowed. So, they were similar but different.

There are two similarities between Pizzaro and Cortes. One of the similarities is that they both explored a foreign land. They also had an advantage over the people that they fought against. Pizzaro and Cortes had horses and dogs. The Indians have never seen them before so it made them frightened when they had to fight against Pizzaro and Cortes. One difference that the two explorers had was that they conquered different tribes. Pizzaro had conquered the Incas and Cortes conquered the Maya and the Aztec.

Hey Mr. Crowell...who do you think the outcome of the Revolutionary War would have been if we did not conquer Bugoyne's army? OR, if we did not capture Fort Ticonderogga?

Oh, and one more thing, if Hessians would not have been with the British, and the French not with America, and also no Indian alliances what-so-ever, what do you think would have happened?
